James is our latest acquisition to the design team, despite being a lifelong Plymouth Argyle supporter. James has a wide range of experience in the publishing world including working for a restaurant magazine where he gained experience in branding and logo design and learned the meaning of deadlines when designing graphics for live shows, exhibitions and awards ceremonies. His clients included Pinewood Studios, AXA, Knight Frank and Aylesford.
James came to Philosophy from Headline Book Publishing, fresh from being short-listed for the British Book Design and Production Awards 2007. During his time at Headline he was responsible for commissioning photographers and illustrators and art-directing photo shoots. He himself has strong skills as an illustrator and is admired around the office for his deadpan delivery of witty anecdotes but has yet to pull his weight on the tea-making rota.
