James’ 15 year career has encompassed a wide range of design briefs, from branding to annual reports and corporate literature, environmental graphics and digital media. His clients have included ABN Amro, BT, British Steel and a project for Jersey War Tunnels which was a finalist in the DBA Design Effectiveness awards 2004. He subsequently spent four years freelancing for the likes of Salter Baxter, The 400, Carnegie Orr, Saatchi & Saatchi Design and Philosophy where his clients included BskyB, Reuters, Provident Financial and Guinness.
Earlier this year, we persuaded James to settle down and build design roots at Philosophy, as Creative Director. James’ understated, laid-back manner belies a razor-sharp, almost pathological attention to detail and a desire for his team to consistently exceed client expectations.
James is involved in every project and is lauded in the studio for his famous calmness under pressure although perhaps not for his infamously diverse musical taste or his willingness to do his turn in the kitchen.
